New Oakland renter protections attacked in court

An Oakland landlord couple have filed a lawsuit to stop tenant relocation payments. Although several Bay Area cities currently have tenant relocation payment ordinances, they have generally withstood challenges by landlords. This particular challenge however, is using a novel strategy - that relocation payments violate the 5th Amendment of the Constitution.

Effective August 3, 2021, all visitors to our office are required to wear a face-covering over mouth and nose by the order of Alameda County Health Officer Order 21-03. Those who do not comply with this requirement will be refused entry.
